Under what circumstances would you allow your adult child to move back home?
The adult child is 25 and has a child of their own. Under what circumstances would you allow this child to move back home with you? What rules would be set in place? What are some reasons you would not allow them to move back in?
Well I am not 25 yet but I do have a child so I guess for me if my son at the age of 25 wanted to move back home with me I feel that I would allow it. I would want to know the reason he wanted to move back in - is he having trouble with money or is he unhappy in his relationship etc. I would need to know why he wanted to come back home. I would also want to set some guide lines because even though he is an adult he still has to follow the house rules which may or may not include paying some rent (depending on the situation). I would also make sure that he knew that while his child is always welcome I will not be the live in baby sitter so he can go out. He would have to refrain from any drug or drinking activity and also no smoking on my property because I hate cigarettes.
I would want to encourage him to become self sufficient but I would never want to make him feel bad about having to come back home.

Are home improvements tax deductible?
Home improvements, like renovating a home or making permanent additions to the home, increase the value of the house while making it more habitable. Home improvement loans, availed for the purpose of making certain improvements, qualify for tax deductions. In addition to these loans, certain expenses also qualify for tax deductions and tax credits. A tax deduction reduces the amount of taxable income.
