Because today in class these two guys asked me what my favorite band was and I said Bon jovi and Switchfoot because thats just the bands I like. In return they made fun of it saying that those bands are gay. Is it really that bad?

most of the time when i was in school, my favorite band was the beatles, most people thought it was dumb but i later met people that had the same taste as me, it's nice to expand over generations of music

Bon Jovi Tickets - Bon Jovi To Perform First-Ever Events At New Meadowlands Stadium

New Jersey-bred rock band Bon Jovi is slated to christen the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. for a trio of dates in May, and Pollstar.com recently revealed who will open on the historic occasion. When announcing The Circle World Tour last fall, Bon Jovi performed a mini show in the new stadium's parking lot, but the real thing will take place May 26-27 and 29. Train will appear for the first date at New Meadowlands Stadium (May 26) followed by Gavin DeGraw on the second (May 27) and One Republic on the final date (May 29) at the brand new venue.

Bon Jovi's ambitious outing—a two-year road trip which will eventually see the band performing as many as 135 shows in some 30 nations—kicked off in February and is in support of the group's latest album, 2009's The Circle. Bon Jovi's 11th album, The Circle is the follow-up to 2007's Lost Highway and is the New Jersey band's fourth album to land at the coveted No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart (preceded by Lost Highway, 1988's New Jersey and 1986's Slippery When Wet). The Circle is Bon Jovi at its rock 'n' roll roots, exemplified by songs like "Work for the Working Man," "Learn to Love" and the album's lead single, "We Weren't Born to Follow."

One fan who might like Bon Jovi's new music a little too much is Amanda Durkin. The 35-year-old woman from Withernsea, East Yorkshire has been fined and had her stereo equipment confiscated after blasting Bon Jovi hits too loudly and too frequently, reported Spinner. Durkin's marriage ended in April 2009, after which point she sought solace in the music of the New Jersey rock band—much to her neighbors' chagrin.

Prosecutor Vincent Blake Barnard is quoted in the Daily Telegraph as saying, "She was interviewed under caution and confirmed that she had received all of the warnings, but, due to personal problems in her life, chose to ignore them. The council attempted to resolve it, but to no avail and it has been brought to court." There is no word yet on whether Durkin's response in court will be by playing the hit Bon Jovi song "It's My Life."

Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan and Tico Torress and guitarists Hugh McDonald and Bobby Bandiera recruited Dashboard Confessional as their opening act on first leg of The Circle World Tour. Earlier this year, Dashboard Confessional frontman Chris Carrabba told Billboard.com that it is an honor to open for Bon Jovi. "They're an amazing band that I love. There's a songwriting prowess that those guys have that's inspired me so much, although it's probably not evident in any of my songwriting. And they're one of the archetypal live bands of the last 30 years; I can't wait to watch them play every night," said Carrabba, likely echoing fans' sentiments.

Bon Jovi will be stopping in U.S. cities like Dallas, Texas; Tulsa, Okla.; Atlanta, Ga.; Tampa, Fla.; Nashville, Tenn.; Charlotte, N.C.; Hershey, Pa. and more thoughout May before crossing the pond to perform a string of dates at London's O2 Arena in June.
